What keeps you busy these days? Are you working full time, in a relationship, raising a family, attending many different workshops and self-healing groups? Do you have a busy social life? Do you spend a lot of time on computer or watching TV?
What is important to you, what occupies your time.
Being "semi-retired" I find I am as busy as ever. Yet I forget how much I used to do, when now just the daily mundane tasks seem to take forever. In my young adult years, I was a wife and mother, a volunteer worker with children, in my mid-life I attended Concordia University in Montreal, the went on to study as a Natural Health Consultant and years later I trained as an Art Therapist. I devoted a decade to caring for my aging parents whilst running a private practise as a healer and counsellor, doing Creativity workshops holding ongoing Sacred Circles, Art workshops and more. I was a Tai Chi instruction for 12 years as well. The list goes on....
Looking back, I see that my life has always been busy and full. But my growth and healing took priority. Finding resolution to my stories was paramount.
What is your focus? What drives you? What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning? What moves you through your day? At the end of the day... do you feel like you have lived something profound and meaningful? Do you feel like you learned something, changed something, healed something?
The Medicine Wheel gives us a foundation to live by, a script if you will... to follow while we fill in the spaces with our own uniqueness, personal experiences and perspectives. These days it seems harder to stay on path, to be focused with so many distractions all the time that fill our time with trivial pursuits or mundane matters.
How do you keep yourself aligned on your path and purpose? Do you have a higher purpose in all that you do?
Life is precious and the challenges are constant. How do you navigate through your daily life?
